All around Iceland, the geothermal water has been used for a long time to heat houses and to generate electrical energy. Hydroenergy and geothermal heat are sustainable alternatives to fossil sources for the production of fuel cells – a technology that Iceland has been at the forefront in developing. It is believed that Iceland could become the first “hydrogen country” in 30-40 years.
